I had to stop online gaming. I was lucky enough to see it coming. In my case, it was XBox Live + Guitar Hero World Tour + The Guitar Hero Online Community. After two months, I noticed I was becoming more and more obsessed with gaining higher skill levels, points and triumphs. I was tensed up during the games. I began spending far too much time away from my loved ones. It wasn’t fun any more. It was a trap. So I stopped it cold. Without a word, I closed my XBox Live Account immediately. I did not look at my Friends' messages, which I missed the most. I abandoned my "Tour Group" and the Guitar Hero Community without a single backward look. Now and then I’ll play offline for enjoyment and relaxation. It's a lot better now. But online, never again! I can totally understand how youngsters get sucked in. I’m 64!
